About Schield Wikas MD, Dermatologist


Dr. Schield Wikas was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and he is married to his wife Cheryl, and they have three children. He graduated from Woodward High School in Cincinnati in 1964. He then attended the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1969. From there he attended the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, graduating in 1973 with a Master of Science degree. He worked for 2 years as a pharmacist in the community and hospital pharmacies in Cincinnati. He then attended the Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience (formerly called Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine) in Kansas City Missouri graduating in 1979 with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. He had a rotating internship at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital (now called Western Reserve Hospital) in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio graduating in 1980. Then he was a resident in Internal Medicine (1980-1981) followed by a residency in the Department of Dermatology (1980-1984) both at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland Ohio. Dr. Wikas is board certified in Dermatology by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology (1984).

Dr. Wikas founded Tri-County Dermatology in 1984 with offices in Cuyahoga Falls, Kent and Canton Ohio. He was associated with his partner Dr. Monte Fox. Dr. Wikas was also a dermatology residency Program Director associated with Western Reserve Hospital, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (ACGME Certified) from 1990-2021. His residents practice all over the United Stated. While at Tri-County Dermatology, Schield Wikas, D.O. was a clinical staff member at Western Reserve Hospital, Akron General, Summa, University Hospitals-Portage, Akron Childrens Hospital, Mercy Medical Center and Aultman Hospital. He was on the clinical faculty of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Schield Wikas, D.O. is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (Distinguished Fellow), American Osteopathic Association and American Medical Association. Dr. Wikas was on the Education Evaluation Committee of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology supervising Osteopathic Dermatology Residencies.
