Apex Skin’s Maggie McKernan Named 2025 PA Educator of the Year

Apex Skin proudly announces that Margaret (Maggie) McKernan, DMSc, PA-C, has been named the 2025 Jerry A. Greco, PA-C Memorial PA Educator of the Year by the Ohio Association of Physician Assistants (OAPA).

This distinguished honor recognizes a physician assistant who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to physician assistant education, mentorship, and professional advancement across Ohio dermatology. Named in memory of Jerry A. Greco, PA-C—a respected educator, clinician, and advocate—the award highlights individuals who embody his legacy of service, teaching, and leadership.

As Director of Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner Education and Training at Apex Skin, Maggie leads initiatives to mentor and train providers across the organization’s network.

  • State Affiliate Liaison for the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA)

Maggie has also presented at numerous professional conferences, including AAPA, OAPA, PSPA, SDPA, and Diversity in Dermatology, sharing her expertise and promoting continued education within the PA community.
