Getting Ready for the Holidays with CoolSculpting: The Full Experience

CoolSculpting is rapidly growing for good reason! Whether it’s a way to supplement your fitness progress or even a means to motivate you to get started, CoolSculpting is a fantastic option.

Here to share her personal experience (and results!) during the process is our own Kaylee O’Donnell, BSN, RN.

How does CoolSculpting affect your confidence?

“Let me tell you…CoolSculpting is a CONFIDENCE BOOSTER! As a professional, I have seen clients light up when they tell me how excited they are when they have been asked if they lost weight or tell me how much happier they are when looking in the mirror.”

Part of the CoolSculpting process is taking pre and post pictures. At each visit, we go over pictures and review results. It always makes me happy when my client has an immediate reaction and notices the difference without having to compare pictures.

“From my personal experience, it has boosted my confidence on so many different levels. Once I noticed my clothes fitting differently, I was SO EXCITED!”

I completed 2 full treatments on my lower abdomen. From my jeans to my leggings, I noticed my lower abdomen is flatter and my pants fit so much better. This is the CoolSculpting confidence I want all my clients to experience!

How does CoolSculpting impact your overall health and wellness?

It is important to note that over 8 million CoolSculpting treatments have been completed worldwide. This is just one example of how safe CoolSculpting truly is.

“Most of us suffer from stubborn fat, regardless on our diet and exercise. CoolSculpting safely eliminates the targeted fat cells that are then naturally excreted out of our body. CoolSculpting is the perfect motivation and sustainability.”

Sometimes, I have CoolSculpting be the motivation that someone needs to have a healthier lifestyle. Other times, CoolSculpting is the “cherry on top” of someone’s health journey.

After our adolescent years, our body will stop making new fat cells. We gain and lose weight when our fat cells shrink and expand. CoolSculpting permanently gets rid of these fat cells!

Once excreted, these fat cells are gone for good!

What has your own experience with CoolSculpting been like?

Like most clients, I was a little nervous before my treatment day. Once the applicator is attached, you feel tugging as the technology is a vacuum suction. I felt the cold temperature (-11C) right away, but after about 6 minutes, I was completely numb!

If I didn’t see the machine sitting next to me, I would have totally forgotten I was getting CoolSculpting done. After my 35-minute treatment, a 2-minute massage was performed. The first few seconds of this massage are slightly uncomfortable, as my skin went from being numb to being massaged. After the 2 minutes was up, I was completely numb again!

That night, I did my regular exercise. The following week I was slightly sore. I was numb for about 2 weeks. Then I was back to normal.

Over the next few weeks, I noticed a difference in my lower abdomen, but then I saw my 7 week before and after pictures and I was completely shocked! At 50 days, I completed my second treatment on my lower bilateral abdomen.

For me, I was not as sore and numb this time around. I still have about 16 weeks left for my body to completely excrete the frozen fat cells from my treatment, but the result pictures speak for themselves!

What’s your advice for CoolSculpting now vs. during the summer months?

Doing CoolSculpting now (winter, December) is a great way to kick start new year body goals!

As we recommend at least 2 full treatments on each area of concern- giving yourself 4-6 months to see those optimal results gets you ready for your spring/summer body! On the other hand, choosing to do CoolSculpting during spring/summer months get your body ready during the late summer/holiday season.

Regardless, any month is an amazing time to begin your CoolSculpting journey!

Who should not do CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is usually safe for everyone. You should not have the CoolSculpting procedure if you have Cryoglobulinemia, Cold Agglutinin Disease, or Paroxysmal Cold Hemoglobinuria.

How long does it take to see results?

CoolSculpting can reduce 20%-25% of fat after one treatment. We highly recommend at least two treatments on each site for optimal results.

“Typically, it can take our body 90-180 days to completely filter and excrete the subcutaneous fat cells. It is common for clients to start seeing results as soon as 5-8 weeks after the procedure.”

What areas of the body can CoolSculpting treat?

CoolSculpting is FDA-approved for 9 different areas: under the chin/below the jawline, upper arms, abdomen, sides (flanks), bra fat, above the knee, inner thighs, outer thighs, and underneath the buttocks (banana roll).
